You can always sent your ideas, questions and informations to this list. Everybody can simply add his/her email adress to this list through the webpage www.memenet.de or by an email to info@memenet.de Current state of the project I have the pleasure to give you an update of the current state of development of the project. After a bunch of teams in the last weeks have been working in south of spain and the north of Morocco for the promotion of the tour and to find local partners who are willing to prepare the arrival of the caravan, the lists of emails and the people involved has been constantly growing. The caravan will get together in three or four locations in Andalusia and Northern Morocco. Every of these meetings consists of a 2 or 3 days festival where local groups and participating groups will give a common program. Around these peaks the caravane will stay for about two weeks in every location in order to prepare and reflect the festival, get to know the area and realize projects of cooperation that last longer then two days. The same thing is gonna be happening in the South of Morocco, Mauretania (one festival each) and in Senegal (two festivals) Its is important to remember that these festivals all gonna be very special as the local partners and the participating groups of the caravan will be different from time to time. The quest now is to spread the word furthermore among activists in Europe and Africa. Everybody is asked to use his/her links to groups and individuals who might be interessed. A detailed description of the project in english, french, spanish and german is avaiable on the webpage. Local and Regional Preparation The organisation of the caravan is based on a decentralised and horizontal structure. For the preparation of the caravan this means that local or city-wide networks are invited to prepare their participation of the caravan. Preparation means to connect with people from your area in order to - discuss the reasons and intentions of your participation - create and collect cultural and political means that you want to use to express the intentions of the caravane during and around the festivals - participate in the process of the overall discussion on contents and means through this mailing list and overall meetings - find solutions on how to finance your participation in respect of transportation, food etc. Ideas on preparation The best way to find people in your area is by getting your friends and others into it. You can also use this list to find people from your area. In Berlin this process is about to start with a first meeting in May. The exact date is gonna be delivered in a special mail. As quite a few people who want to paricipate do not hold a vehicle, the idea came up to organize a few benefits-parties and finance a collective tour-bus, that is gonna be managed by the respective local crew. The benefits parties also serve as publicity means for the caravane project. Needs On of the biggest needs is translators. We need french and spanish speakers mostly. Don't hesitate to offer you skills on this list. Meeting in Evian (G8 summit) There is a suggestion to hold an overall meeting parallel to the G8 summit in Evian (near Geneva). Certanly not everybody will be there but quite a few people from all over the world will. Therefor it is a good base to meet face to face and prepare the caravane. Comments are welcome. Communicate!
